Niila Inga, a reindeer herder from the Laevas reindeer herding community lassos a calf in Alesjaure, Sweden during summer calf marking, which lasts about a month. Niila is the former president of Swedish Sami Reindeer Herding Association (SSR) and has been collaborating with Ninis Rosqvist and the Tarfala Research Station for the past 6 years monitoring the effects of climate change and reduced land availability on reindeer migration and grazing.
